3.5 Contraindications

Impedance measurements may not be performed on patients who exhibit

the following characteristics:

• Electronic implants, e.g. cardiac pacemaker

• Active prostheses

Impedance measurements may

not be performed on patients who are

connected to one of the following devices:

• Life-support electronic systems, e.g. artificial heart, artificial lungs

• Portable electronic medical devices, e.g. ECG
